Plans in to transform Preston golf club into 155 homes
Set off Tom Benson Way, 26 acres of the former Ingol Golf and Squash Club could become a neighbourhood under an application lodged by Rowland Homes.
The proposal builds off outline permission that was granted in 2018 for 450 homes on the wider site – the new application only focuses on one parcel of land within that.
Under Rowland Homes’ proposals, there would be 50 three-bedroom and 59 four-bedroom market homes on the site.
There would also be 46 affordable homes, equating to 18 two-bedroom homes and 28 three-bedroom ones. The affordable homes would have a mix of tenures, including discounted open market, intermediate and affordable rent.
The houses would all be a maximum of two storeys in height and would be a mixture of detached, semi-detached and terraced properties. Designs would pull from 18 different house types.
The proposals, submitted by Asteer Planning, would also retain woodland on the site and create public open space and cycleways. There would also be a playground designed by Kompan.
Richard Eaves is the landscape architect for the scheme. The project team also includes Mode Transport Planning and Avian Ecology.

What boring and out of date houses, how can you get a normal sized car in that garage, does it come with a charge point, is there solar and heat pumps? is there built in storage and good sized rooms for modern living?
