Wain Estates sells long income play for £7.5m

W Maher and Sons has acquired the 12-acre Air Products site in Carrington.

Wain Estates has sold the site, which is let to the industrial gas supplier until 2053, for around £7.5m, £1.5m above the asking price.

Air Products has occupied the site since 1966. It comprises 67,600 sq ft across seven buildings.

The next lease event is in eight years. At present the asset generates £420,000 a year.

JLL advised Wain Estates and Zaman Roberts and Roberts Vain Wilshaw acted for the purchaser.

The site sits within the 1,665-acre New Carrington allocation, earmarked for 5m sq ft of commercial space and 5,000 homes that incorporates the former Shell petrochemicals site.
