Plans in for 70 Middlewich homes

Picea Design has put together a proposal seeking full consent for housing off Warmingham Lane, adjoining an affordable homes scheme delivered by Seddon.

The site is on the southern edge of Middlewich in the parish of Moston, and comes in just shy of 19 acres – although only around seven acres will be taken up by the development.

The site is made up of an eclosed grazing field, access onto Warmingham Lane and a strip of land prosed for a footpath connection.

A total of 21 affordable homes are proposed within the development, which comes from applicant David Hardman, according to documents filed.

In terms of the housing mix, there will be eight one-bed apartments, six bungalows, 32 mews houses, 12 semi-detached houses and 12 detached.

The site sits immediately south of the housing delivered by Seddon for Halton Housing, a wholly affordable scheme accessed off Brinefield Way.

Picea said in its affordable housing statement that positive negotiations have taken place with Halton Housing about the registered provider taking on the affordable homes within the proposed development in addition to Brinefield Way.

Scheme documents can be viewed on Cheshire East’s planning portal with the reference 26/0982/FUL.

The visualization shows four cars. But there are at least six 3-4 bedroom houses in view (all without garages), so the actual number should be twelve.

Low-rise, car-choked suburb where you’re trapped if you can’t drive because everything else is miles and miles away. Suburbia is a scam

What is the point of a developer creating ecological mitigation ponds and plantation on this site (Warmington Lane Great Crested Newt Mitigation Area 10 Year Management Plan), for another devleoper then to come along and propose to remove that mitigation habitat to build more houses? It doesn’t make any sense to me.

Roads are busy enough there needs to be more infastructure in place. Moston is very busy with heavy traffic as it is. Keep the countryside as it is please.
