North to run Wilde operations
Luis North has been promoted to operations director at the Stockport-headquartered civil and structural engineering firm.
North has been with Wilde Consulting Engineers since 2020, when he joined as a graduate civil engineer. Flash forward 26 years and he is now part of its senior leadership team.
He said he was “delighted” to take on the senior role at the company, which boasts a staff count of more than 130 across its offices in Stockport, London, Liverpool, and Birmingham.
“It’s a great opportunity to build on the strong foundations developed over the last 46 years of business as we look to the future,” North said.
David Wilde, group chairman for Wilde, shared while North was the right person for the operations director post.
“Luis has played a key role in the success of the business to date, and this promotion recognises his leadership and commitment,” Wilde said.
“As we move into the next phase of our growth, his experience will be instrumental in strengthening our operations and supporting the continued growth of the Wilde Group.”
Wilde’s expertise includes highways, rail, power, and rail infrastructure, as well as flood risk management, drainage design, and project management.
Recent North West projects from Wilde include the Deansgate active travel project in Manchester and the Milltown Street footbridge in Radcliffe. Past projects include £73m Town Centre Access Plan for Stockport and the reconstruction of Plymouth Road Railway Bridge in Blackpool.
