Miller gears up for start on 300-home St Helens scheme
Having secured planning consent for the 32-acre Dial House Place last year, the housebuilder has formalised the land acquisition and aims to break ground in June.
Miller Homes is aiming to complete the first of the 307 Rainford homes in early 2025.
Named after the nearby Dial House Wood, the £14.7m Rookery Lane development will include a mix of houses and apartments, offering one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom properties. Around a third of the homes are earmarked as affordable.
The Section 106 agreement accompanying the planning permission is anticipated to provide contributions in excess of upwards of £1m, according to Miller.
John Hardy, land director at Miller Homes said: “The borough of St Helens is growing and the demand for quality housing is greater than ever. It is our ambition to support the sustainable growth of Rainford by providing a mixture of stylish modern homes in a variety of policy compliant sizes and designs.”
Barton Willmore is the planning consultant for the project, while Cavendish is the communications consultant. Sten Architecture created the draft layout for the scheme.
