Last resi plans approved for £1bn Omega Warrington
Having brought forward the first 200 houses on the more than 700-acre former RAF Burtonwood Airfield site, it is only fitting that Miller Homes is lined up to complete the large-scale mixed-use development’s residential element with another 68.
Warrington Council planning officers approved this month the reserved matters application for 68 homes on a five-acre plot bordered by Applecare Nursing Home, Fortress Boulevard, and Borsodi Boulevard in Great Sankey.
The homes will have between one and four bedrooms and will be built according to 12 house types.
Of the 68, 17 are set to be affordable – available for discounted prices or affordable rent. These comprise six one-bedroom homes, seven two-bedroom ones, and four three-bedroom properties.
The market homes break down to two one-bedroom homes, 13 two-bedroom properties, 26 three-bedroom residences, and 10 four-bedroom ones.
This is the fourth phase of Miller Developments and Homes England’s masterplan for Omega Sankey – although phases five, six, and seven are already underway. Miller itself had delivered the first phase in 2017.
When all is complete at Omega, the development will boast a GDV of £1bn, have more than 7m sq ft of industrial space, a 40-acre public park, and 1,450 homes.
The project team for this final residential phase included Lichfields, Ascerta, Eddisons, RSK, Energy & Design, E3P, Landscape Architecture, and Proludic. You can learn more about the project by searching reference 2025/01571/REM on Warrington Council’s planning portal.
