Keepmoat tables plans for five-acre Sale resi

Comprising 53 affordable homes, the scheme would be constructed off Firs Way on the western edge of the Trafford town.

Keepmoat has applied to Trafford Council for permission to build houses on five acres allocated for residential development within the New Carrington strategic allocation in the Places for Everyone joint spatial plan for Greater Manchester.

To the site’s east is the former Shell petrochemicals site, which is earmarked to become New Carrington, a 5,000-home masterplan that also features proposals for a mammoth 3.8m sq ft of employment space.

Keepmoat’s 100% affordable scheme would feature a mix of two-, three-, and four-bed red-brick houses. Around 0.8 acres of the site would be designated as public open space.
