Hurstwood picks up Bentley’s Midpoint building

Manchester-based investor and developer Hurstwood Holdings has acquired Universal House, a 23,700 sq ft office building at the Cheshire business park, for an undisclosed sum.

The three-storey HQ building, sold by a private investor, is fully let to Bentley Motors on a long-term lease. Midpoint 18, close to junction 18 of the M6 close to Middlewich, is home to occupiers including Optima Logistics, B&M Bargains, Wincanton, Kuehne & Nagel, and Scottish Power.

Prior to Bentley’s occupation, the building had been occupied by Cheshire East Primary Care Trust and was sold at auction by LPA receivers in 2013.

Hurstwood’s portfolio now exceeds £150m. Stephen Ashworth, chairman of the business, said: “As a nationwide commercial property investor, we manage more than 650 occupiers over 100 sites across the country and we are especially pleased to add a first-class business such as Bentley to our growing list of top quality clients.”

Avison Young acted on behalf of Hurstwood, with Gateley providing legal advice. The vendor was represented by B8 Real Estate.
