Housing minister to attend MIPIM
Matthew Pennycook is the latest UK government official to join the list of those attending the global property convention in Cannes.
Starting on 9 March with seminars focussed on housing, MIPIM will bring together around 20,000 property professionals from more than 90 countries for a week of networking, investment conversations, and best practice exchanges.
Those attending including more than 70% of the world’s top 100 investment managers, who control €4tn of assets between them. These include BlackRock, Fidelity, Amundi, Invesco, Nuveen, and PGIM.
The UK is shaping up to be brining one of the largest delegations to MIPIM.
This is no surprise to Melanie Leech, chief executive of the British Property Federation.
“The UK has consistently been a hugely successful destination for foreign direct investment in real estate, which is reflected in its size and presence at MIPIM,” she said.
“The BPF is proud to boost the reputation of the UK as a place where investors can be sure of the advantages of a developed, mature market, access to capital, openness to skills and talent, and ease of doing business.”
MIPIM director Nicolas Boffi added: “The UK remains one of the world’s most dynamic and attractive real estate markets. The strength of this year’s UK delegation reflects a clear surge in global interest in UK property and infrastructure, including the residential, office, data centre, industrial and logistics sectors.”
The North of England and Scotland will be getting special highlights throughout the week, thanks to Place Media Group. Panel sessions on the UK Stage and North of England Suite will put a spotlight on the areas’ housing and industrial investment potential. View the Place MIPIM programme.
