Delkia opens 16,000 sq ft St Helens Nexus Centre
The specialist engineering and technology company is expanding operations into Haydock, where it has opened a fresh manufacturing facility.
Delkia, born in West Cumbria in 2013, specialises in safety-related and mission-critical systems.
The 16,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, to be known as The Nexus Centre, was opened by Labour MP David Baines. The expansion follows a widening order book for the firm, which is based in Egremont.
Around 2,100 sq ft of office space is also available.
The Nexus Centre will specialise in the testing and assembly of power and propulsion systems, and is set to cause a step-change in Delkia’s ability to produce, store, and work across varied projects for the aerospace, maritime, and nuclear markets.
Kurt Canfield, chief executive of Delkia, said: “It is a great success to move into this huge production facility and bring our manufacturing and engineering expertise together under one roof.
“This next chapter in Haydock will create exciting new opportunities for innovation and continue to build a strong future and drive success together.

David Baines, Labour MP for St Helens North, said: “Delkia is a proud, family-owned British company.
“They are clear about the benefits of being based here in Haydock, both in terms of its connectivity to the transport network, but more importantly, the opportunity to tap into the talent we have in the local and regional economy.
“They are already linking with local charities and with the education sector as they develop their apprenticeship and graduate programmes.
“The defence sector is vitally important to our economy, and of course, our national security, and I am proud to welcome such an outstanding company to our local area.”
Delkia is a specialist in electrical, control, and instrumentation, offering digital engineering, systems and technical consultancy, systems integration, engineering design, build-to-print, control panel build, and complex system support.
