Co-working space added to Manchester roster

A 14,000 sq ft co-working space is due to open in 31 Ardwick Green, Manchester, later this month.

Use.Space has been created by the founder of creative agency Seventy7, David Walter, in the company’s former offices. Seventy7 has relocated to the nearby School House, but has retained ownership of 31 Ardwick Green.

The co-working area will feature 134 spaces, targeted at start-ups as well as established businesses. Facilities include a botanical atrium, a world food café, bakery and meeting spaces.

Seventy7 will work with Use.Space members as well as providing access to 10,000 sq ft of production facilities for film and voice.

Around 30% of the space is already let to creative and film companies.

Walter said: “Many co-working spaces can be dominated by a very masculine ethos, but at Use.Space we are making conscious decisions about our curated community to promote inclusivity and diversity with a fair balance where everyone feels welcome.

“Sustainability and wellbeing are key priorities for us too and we are employing biophillic design incorporating elements of nature, plants and the outdoors. Plus, all our cutlery, plates, coffee cups and straws will be 100% plant-based and compostable and we’ll be running regular sustainability activities to inspire our members to ensure we all do our bit for the environment.”

Use.Space will also provide mentorship programmes and access to funders.

Simon Stone has been appointed community manager for Use.Space.
