Bruntwood starts on first phase of Didsbury Tech Park

Main contractor North Midland has started work on a three-storey office building, marking the beginning of the three-phase Didsbury Technology Park next to Sir William Siemens House off Princess Road.

The first phase, designed by architect Sheppard Robson, includes 20,000 sq ft of office space and is due to complete by the first quarter of 2019. Cushman & Wakefield and JLL are acting as agents for the scheme, which has floor plates available of up to 7,000 sq ft.

The main works on the office building are due to take place over two phases; the first, managed by Bruntwood and carried out by North Midland, is for the office building itself; while the second includes 68 surface car parking spaces and associated landscaping, and is being carried out by PP O’Connor on behalf of Siemens.

Alongside North Midland and Sheppard Robson, the professional team also includes Deloitte as planner, quantity surveyor Turner & Townsend, M&E engineer DSSR, landscape architect Planit-IE, and structural engineer Booth King.

The development next to the prominent Sir William Siemens House will eventually include four buildings. The second phase includes a five-storey office, offering 75,000 sq ft of space, alongside a 426-space multi-storey car park adjacent to the phase one office.

The third phase is a four-storey office building of 60,000 sq ft.

A masterplan for the site was approved in 2015, while detailed plans for phase one were given the green light in March 2017.
