Brookhouse Group submits plans for 120 Meres Edge homes
The group’s residential arm, Lancet Homes, is promoting an application concerning the land to the north of Chester Road in Helsby, which would offer a range of two-, three-, and four-bed houses, as well as one- and two-bed apartments.
An outline application submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council proposes 120 homes on the 10-acre site, which is currently used for agricultural purposes, but allocated for development in the council’s local plan.
Work to provide access and install pedestrian and cycle routes throughout the development would also be undertaken.
A railway line runs to the site’s west, and plans indicate the construction of a public realm with a green frontage to the train line, creating a buffer between the tracks and homes.
In addition, a communal children’s play area would be erected and a linear park created.
WSP is acting as the planning agent on Brookhouse Group’s behalf. MPSL Planning and Design is the scheme’s principal designer.
The project team also includes Miller Goodall, Envance, Weetwood, BEK, Mode Transport Planning, FPCR Environment and Design, and Pegasus Group.

Would it not make more sense to build a station so people can use public transport and be able to travel to Liverpool etc without having a car
