Bidfood’s Agecroft consolidation tipped to progress
A 122,000 sq ft distribution facility for the wholesale food supplier, and an additional 70,000 sq ft of employment space, are planned to replace the firm’s mish-mash 300,000 sq ft site at Langley Road in Salford.
Bidfood, which supplies restaurants, schools, and hospitals and recorded more than £2.3bn in revenue in 2024, wants to redevelop its Salford site, reducing the amount of floorspace at the 15.5-acre Agecroft complex by around 100,000 sq ft.
Full consent is sought for the 122,000 sq ft distribution facility on the west of the site. It would feature both ambient and cold storage areas as well as 25,000 sq ft of office space.
Outline consent is sought for the redevelopment of the eastern portion of the site into another 70,000 sq ft warehouse.
The 10,000 sq ft customer experience building would be retained.
The scheme has received no objections following the public consultation and has been recommended for approval at Salford City Council’s next planning meeting.
Turley is advising Bidfood on planning and Ashton Smith is leading on design.
