United Living proposes 260 Halsnead homes

A 19-acre site off Windy Arbour Road in Whiston is earmarked for redevelopment.

United Living is preparing to submit a planning application for 260 homes on the site, which falls within Halsnead Garden Village.

RSK is advising the developer on the plans, which would see the houses accessed via Lickers Lane to the north and Main Drive to the south.

It is anticipated that the development would be built out over three years, subject to planning approval. To learn more, search for reference number 26/00249/SO on Knowsley Council’s planning portal.

The plans build on the residential development at Halsnead Garden Village, which is earmarked for 1,600 homes overall. Recent approvals include 350 Taylor Wimpey properties, 330 from Bloor Homes and 377 from Your Housing Group that are currently under construction.

Last year, United Living said it would wind down its new-build housing business following a strategic review by Apollo Asset Management, which bought the company in 2023.

Earlier this year, Andrew McDonough took ownership of housing operations following an MBO.

More suburban, isolated, car-dependent homes. Nice.
