Restaurant line-up in for Manchester’s No2 St Michael’s

Bristol-based Pasture Restaurant Group is making its Northern debut with the opening of four hospitality concepts at the 43-storey skyscraper from Salboy and Gary Neville’s Relentless Developments.

The four restaurants will cover a total of 12,600 sq ft and hold 413 covers.

Pasture Manchester will occupy the ground floor of the Hodder & Partners-designed tower. Known for its “fire-based cooking”, the steakhouse prides itself on the quality of its pasture-raised, dry-aged meat.

Staying on the ground floor and moving outside the skyscraper will be Abercromby – a reimagining of the historic pub. Outside will be Terrace, which will offer Mediterranean-inspired cuisine all day long to its guests.

Heading upward, the W Lounge will act as the bar for the W Hotel Manchester, which will operate 162 rooms in the building.

All four ventures are expecting to open towards the end of 2027.

Pasture’s chef-owner Sam Elliott spoke about why he opted to grow his business up North.

“Manchester is a city with a huge personality, a strong independent spirit and a real passion for great food, so bringing Pasture here is incredibly exciting,” Elliott said.

“St Michael’s gives us the opportunity to create something that goes beyond a restaurant, with four distinct destinations that each have their own identity while sharing the same values around quality, provenance and memorable experiences.,” he continued.

“From our signature open-fire cooking at Pasture Manchester and Mediterranean-inspired all-day dining at Terrace, to the atmosphere of W Lounge and the much-loved character of the Abercromby, we’re looking forward to becoming part of the city’s dynamic hospitality scene.”

Relentless director Gary Neville added: “When we started St Michael’s, our ambition was to create a destination in the heart of Manchester that genuinely reflects the energy, confidence and character of the city. Pasture is exactly the kind of operator we want to attract.

“Sam and his team have built something special, and bringing four distinct concepts into the scheme will add another layer of quality and personality to what we’re creating here,” he continued.

“The combination of Pasture Manchester, Terrace, the Abercromby and W Lounge will help make St Michael’s a place people want to visit, whether they’re working here, staying here or enjoying what Manchester has to offer.”

In addition to the four restaurants and the 162-room W Hotel, No2 St Michaels will include 75,000 sq ft of offices and 217 W Residences when it completes next year.

Domis is the main contractor for the scheme, which boasts interiors designed by Bowler James Brindley. When the office space opens, it is expected to command rents of £55/sq ft.
