Sui Generis buys in Altrincham
Sui Generis Investments has acquired Atlantic Street Retail Park, an 80,000 sq ft scheme in Altrincham. The retail park was being marketed by Savills on behalf of LaSalle Investment Management for £14m.
Sui Generis Investments already owns the Grafton Centre in Altrincham town centre. Atlantic Street Retail Park is situated in the Broadheath area of Altrincham opposite the Crown Estates’ popular Altrincham Retail Park. It was previously home to Dreams and Allied Carpets. B&Q is the only remaining occupier with seven years left on its lease.
Simon Marshall, senior surveyor at C&W, advised Sui Generis Investments. He said: “Atlantic Street and the surrounds has seen significant development over the past 12 months with ASDA’s new 40,000 sq ft store drawing increased consumer flow past the retail park. Additionally, the improvements at Bridgewater Retail Park and the continued success of Altrincham Retail Park highlight the strength of this pitch as one of South Manchester’s primary retail warehouse destinations. Not only this, but the increased residential development along Woodfield Road underlines Atlantic Street as an important retail provision.”
