SpaceInvader announces series of promotions

Nathan Lindley and Sarah Dabbs have been made associate directors at the interior design consultancy.

Their promotion from associates to associate directors at Manchester-based SpaceInvader went into effect in March and sees both taking on new leadership responsibilities.

Lindley, who joined the firm in 2015, now oversees technical delivery and assists with relationships with prominent clients, such as Manchester City. Lindley has a strong background in interior design. Before joining SpaceInvader, he worked at Styles&Wood, Wella, NRN design, and Campbell & Armstrong Design.

Dabbs is charged with managing various processes and systems concerning projects, including sustainability reporting. She also assists in managing client responsibilities. Dabbs joined SpaceInvader in 2019.

SpaceInvader founder John Williams said that now was the right time to grow the associate director team.

“As we emerge properly out of the pandemic and face the future with a burgeoning order book it was definitely the moment to make a strategic investment in the future of the agency by appointing a strong new level of senior management,” Williams said.

“These key appointments will help take the company forward as we continue expanding from our solid workplace design base and into more hospitality and developer-residential schemes,” he continued.

In addition to Lindley and Dabbs, SpaceInvader announced the promotions of four designers to associate positions.

Within the interior design team, Imogen Woodage and Regina Cheng has been promoted to associate. The two joined SpaceInvader in 2015 and 2017, respectively.

Jenny Crossland, a graphic and branding designer, was also promoted to associate. Crossland has been with the company since 2019.

The final promotion to associate belongs to principal designer Tad Kolakowski. Kolakowski joined SpaceInvader in 2020. Williams described Kolakowski’s role as principal designer as bringing the company’s “in-house knowledge to another level”.

SpaceInvader has also recruited interior designer Jon Waldron to join the team as an associate.

Regarding the promotions and Waldron’s hire, Williams said: “We are bringing new talent into the company, as well as rewarding and promoting some of the strongest players in the existing team, whilst also expanding their roles to help the studio stay ahead of the game on some of the major challenges the industry is facing, particularly around sustainability and technological change.”
