Salford tips 100% affordable scheme for consent

Great Places Housing Group and Redwater Developments want to redevelop a 12-acre site that includes Walkden Cricket Club into 90 homes.

Salford City Council’s planning officers have recommended the application be approved later this week.

Great Places and Redwater propose the creation of 17 two-bedroom homes, 59 with three bedrooms and 14 four-bedroom properties on an area of the site known as Hill Top Moss, south of Hill Top Road.

The homes will be a mix of social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership properties.

In addition, the developers plan to upgrade facilities for users of the neighbouring playing fields and cricket club. The existing clubhouse and changing rooms will be extended, while practice nets and a scoreboard will also be added.

Hive Land and Planning is advising the developers on the application.
