Regenda finishes up in Fleetwood

Construction work has been completed on Lighthouse View, a £12m extra care scheme comprising 72 apartments.

The contract was completed by Regenda business M&Y Maintenance and Construction for the group, M&Y taking over on the project when previous principal contractor Bardsley Construction went into administration in 2019.

Lighthouse View will provide 72 one-and two-bedroom apartments for people aged 55-plus in need of additional support. Providing that access to care 24 hours a day year-round, Lighthouse View also includes treatment rooms, a hair salon, restaurant and an outdoor exercise area.

Stephanie Harrison, executive director of operations and customer services at Regenda Homes, said: “Lighthouse View will provide high quality, safe and secure homes for older people who want to enjoy their independence with care and support available when they need it.

“There is a real lack of this type of housing across the country and I’m so proud that we can bring these much-needed homes to Wyre.”

Garry Payne, chief executive of Wyre Council, said: “We are incredibly proud to work in partnership with Regenda to deliver these much needed homes to residents of Fleetwood. These new homes will provide great quality and secure homes for older residents.”

The Fleetwood facility will include 72 apartments

The handover of Lighthouse View was delayed first by Bardsley’s troubles, and then by Covid-19 closing construction sites and damaing supply chains earlier this year.

Lighthouse View is part of Regenda Homes’ “10 Year Vision for Fleetwood,” a £10m investment programme across four estates in the Lancashire town. Wyre Council has also sought support from various funding streams to back regeneration efforts.

Elsewhere in Fleetwood, Project Neptune, the first stage of a mixed-use redevelopment of Fleetwood Docks, received £4m from the Getting Building Fund this summer.

I am interested in finding out more about Regenda Homes in Fleetwood. I am 70 and have lived in Blackpool and Thornton Cleveleys all my life but Fleetwood had always featured in my life with my children and grandchildren and I would now like to make my final move to Fleetwood. How can I get more information on what’s available, prices, and future availability. Thank you
