Redsun completes Canada Dock scheme
Redsun Developments has completed its redevelopment of the former Canada Dock railway station site in North Liverpool.
Construction of the 70,000 sq ft Canada Dock Exchange finished in April with over 80% occupancy on completion, including Travis Perkins subsidiary CCF, which occupies 30,000 sq ft, and Screwfix.
The station that once occupied the four-acre site was closed in 1982. Redsun acquired the site in 2015 from Homes & Communities Agency.
Nick Wightman, director of Redsun Developments, said: “This site was part of Liverpool’s industrial heritage, but had laid derelict for 35 years, so it’s been really satisfying to bring it back to life. North Liverpool docklands is the focus of a lot of interest at the moment, so we’re pleased to have contributed by providing high quality new buildings to support investment in the area.”
Redsun are currently on site delivering a further 300,000 sq ft of new commercial floorspace across the North West at their Power Station, Helix Business Park and Domino developments, all of which are due to reach completion in 2017.
Wightman added: “This is a big year for us as we continue to push on with a number of developments across the North West, and look to secure sites for further developments in 2018.”
The development was supported by Liverpool City Council’s Regional Growth Fund.
