Work could restart on Eccles Lyceum resi in eight weeks

Integritas Property Group has secured approval for a series of tweaks to the stalled 82-apartment project and said it is close to clinching funding to complete it.

Salford City Council has approved Integritas’ updated designs for the redevelopment of Eccles Lyceum on Church Street, which could pave the way for work to restart after a long hiatus.

Construction of the scheme, which includes the retention of the listed former theatre’s facade, ground to a halt in 2020 when Lyceum Manchester, a vehicle owned by Goodwin’s Construction Services Group, entered administration.

The following year, Integritas, headed up by Mitchell Walsh, took control of the scheme on behalf of a group of investors.

Abrey Construction was appointed to build the development in 2022 but limited works have taken place. In 2023, Integritas announced it had secured a £10m loan from Maslow to fund the development.

Walsh told Place North West that work could recommence on site very soon.

“We have received funding terms from one of IPG’s funding partners and are currently progressing the necessary legal and administrative processes required to complete the funding,” he said.

“Subject to completion of those processes, we anticipate returning to site within approximately eight weeks. In the meantime, the IPG team will continue progressing matters behind the scenes to ensure the project is in the strongest possible position to recommence construction as soon as funding completes.”
