Pugh & Co auctions hit £5.9m

Pugh & Co's latest round of auctions at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester and Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool generated £5.9m, with sales still taking place.

The first lot at the Manchester auction saw a former industrial workshop in Wigan sell for three times its guide price. The unit at Forton Road was offered on behalf of Wigan Council and achieved a final sale price of £475,000.

Dinmore Hotel, a former pub in Blackpool with a guide price of £110,000 sold for £250,000, and a vacant parcel of land in Layton offered on behalf of Tesco with a guide price of £25,000 sold for £41,000.

The Liverpool auction saw a semi-detached property sold on behalf of Cheshire West & Chester Council for £92,000, £22,000 higher than its guide price.

The next round of Pugh & Co auctions will take place between the 9 and 11 September.
