Placefirst makes operations director hire
Mark Hawley has been appointed to the newly created role of operations director, tasked with supporting the acceleration of the growing business.
Hawley moved to Placefirst from Bruntwood SciTech, where he spent 10 years working his way up through the ranks from property manager to the position of operations director.
He will be based out of Placefirst’s Salford Quays office and will join the firm’s 74 employees.
Placefirst expects to complete five new developments in 2025, welcoming almost 700 residents to its neighbourhoods – a 30% increase from last year – in towns including Bolton and Halifax.
Hawley said: “This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the Placefirst team as their expansion across the UK progresses.
“With operational success being key in delivering this next phase of growth, I look forward to building on Placefirst’s existing reputation for creating and operating quality neighbourhoods.”
David Mawson, chief executive at Placefirst, added: “As we continue our transition from being a regional developer to establishing a nationwide presence, expanding our senior leadership team and refining our internal operations is essential.
“Mark’s proven expertise in scaling operations across both development and acquisitions will be key in ensuring we continue to grow efficiently while maintaining the quality of service our residents expect.”e
