MCI starts on Birchwood homes for Your Housing Group
Work is underway on a 66-home development in Birchwood for Your Housing Group’s private rental arm Nuvu Living.
The contractor is building 66 two and three-bedroom homes for private rent alongside shared ownership homes at the site in Birchwood, with the first properties due to complete in 2018.
The development is being brought forward by MCI in partnership with Warrington Council and the Homes & Communities Agency.
The site, around four miles east of Warrington town centre, formerly housed the Roman Catholic School of St Oliver Plunkett which closed in 2003.
Plans were submitted for the project in August last year, and approved in May 2017.
Nuvu said that while rental prices for the new homes were yet to be confirmed, starting prices are anticipated at £725pcm for a two-bed house and £800pcm for a three-bed house.
Your Housing Group has a portfolio of around 28,000 homes across the North. Developments it has worked on through its private rental arm, which was formerly known as Hive, include the 106-home Church Street scheme in Warrington town centre.
John Cogbill, chief operating officer at Your Housing Group said: “At Nuvu Living we embrace the principle that renting a home is a lifestyle choice and we’ve spotted the opportunity to offer great family homes with long term rentals to enable people to lay down roots in an area without the uncertainty of short term tenancies.
“Residents will even have access to our handyman and have the option to add on additional services.”
