Manchester Hall put up for sale
Vision Investments is looking to offload the former Freemasons Hall on Bridge Street.
Graham + Sibbald is marketing the long leasehold of Manchester Hall on behalf of Vision Investments One, a vehicle owned by Vision director Stephen Cliff.
Vision, set up by Cliff and Irish property developer Morgan Leahy in 2008, has owned the asset since 2011.
Following the acquisition, the developer set about redeveloping the building into a dining and events venue.
Today, Manchester Hall features a variety of events and meeting spaces, as well as eight boutique hotel rooms. One of the ground floor commercial units is let to the popular restaurant Dishoom on a 25-year lease that began in 2018.
The sale of Manchester Hall also features an adjoining plot of land fronting Bridge Street. In recent years, the land has been used as an outdoor bar by various operators. Plans for an eight-storey office scheme on the site were approved in 2017 but never implemented.
Cynergy Bank appointed Gerald Eve as receiver over Vision Investments One in 2022 to recover money owed. The receiver action ended last November, at which time Vision secured funding from Garnet Bridging, according to Companies House.
Manchester Hall Limted, another company owned by Stephen Cliff, is in the process of being liquidated. It owed £1.7m to Vision when it went into liquidation, Companies Hosue files state.
Only Dishoom has been a success here
