Galliford Try gets go-ahead for 100 houses
The housebuilder has been granted planning permission for 100 homes over two sites in Rochdale, advised by Euan Kellie Property Solutions.
The first site involves the redevelopment of the former Boots warehouse site, on Mary Street in Heywood. The plot, which has recently been cleared, will be developed by Galliford Try Partnerships to provide 65 houses, 37 of which will be affordable and will be built for The Guinness Partnership, while 28 will be for open market sale under Galliford Try’s Linden Homes brand.
The other site will see Galliford Try Partnerships redevelop a long-term vacant site on Milnrow Road in Newbold, also on behalf of Guinness, to deliver 37 new affordable homes.
Work on both sites is due to start in the summer, and the new homes will be available from spring 2017.
Kelly Paddick, director of Euan Kellie Property Solutions, said: “It is great to see development taking place on these important brownfield sites, which will provide much needed new housing in Rochdale.”
Darren Leary, development director of Galliford Try Partnerships North West, said: “We have worked very closely with The Guinness Partnership and Rochdale Council in bringing these sites forward and are delighted to have received planning permission for their redevelopment. We are looking forward to starting work on both sites in the coming months and ultimately to delivering a range of new housing in Rochdale.”
The scheme was designed by BM3 Architecture.
