Cereal giant joins fight against road charge
Kellogg's, one of Trafford Park's largest occupiers, has joined the 'No' campaign against a congestion charge for Greater Manchester.
Chris Wermann, communications director of the cereal producer, said the £3bn investment in public transport would be welcomed but the congestion charge "will not help us move cornflakes".
He added: "This is the first time we have spoken out but we will be more vocal from now on. There are a number of other big businesses who will be doing the same."
The company has been based at the industrial estate since 1938 and has an office in Old Trafford.
The Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority last week received a further £1.5m towards developing its Transport Innovation Fund bid, which has also been opposed by three out of ten local authorities. A decision is expected from the Government in March.
