Cassidy + Ashton hires and promotes

The architectural consultancy has made four appointments and two promotions to the board in its Preston and Chester practices.

Associate architect Lawrence McBurney becomes a director following 16 years with the firm, which he joined in 2000. He has delivered a number of high-profile schemes as project lead, including the Riley Sixth Form Centre at Bolton School and the refurbishment of the Grand Theatre in Blackpool.

Guy Evans has also been promoted to director from his previous role as associate chartered town planner. With more than 20 years’ experience in planning, Guy has been part of the team at Cassidy + Ashton since 2009.

Andrew Morris and Ian Mather both join Cassidy + Ashton’s Chester team as architectural technicians.

Mather joined Cassidy + Ashton from C4 Consulting. He has worked for various architectural firms in the North West and was involved in The Islands project at Chester Zoo as part of the zoo’s estates team. His experience includes education, residential and healthcare.

Morris has a focus on the education sector gained at a small architectural practice and a modular buildings specialist. A current scheme at the University of Liverpool will be among his first projects for Cassidy + Ashton.

Also joining the Chester office from Watts Group is senior building surveyor, Thomas Weinmann. His experience includes a number of Ministry of Defence projects.

In the Preston office, Gillian Allmark has been appointed to the post of architectural technologist, after more than nine years with Manchester-based PRP Architects.
