Bury buy for Bellway
The housebuilder has completed the acquisition of 6.4 acres on Walshaw Road for a 96-strong residential development.
Bellway’s development will be called Bridleway Grange, the name derived from a bridle path to the south of the site, and will include two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.
Remediation of the site is now complete and initial ground work is well under way, with a sales launch scheduled for spring.
Hollie Reynolds, sales director for Bellway Manchester, said: “The location of Bridleway Grange is superb, just over a mile from Bury town centre, only five minutes from the Bury tram stop and a 30 minute drive to Manchester city centre.
The facilities close by are excellent, so too are the schools, which will ensure the development appeals to all buyers. As build progresses, we are looking forward to the development taking shape and officially launching the first properties for sale.”
Design for the houses delivered at the scheme will be from Bellway’s recently launched Artisan range.
Contributions linked to the project include £275,888 towards public open space and £79,000 towards ecology.
The latter part of 2021 saw Bellway secure large consents within major regeneration masterplans: in December Bellway and its partner Anwyl secured consent for a 368-home development at the Airfields development zone in Flintshire, while October saw permission for 205 homes within Bolton’s £262m Horwich Loco Works
In November Bellway acquired the Brackley Golf Club site in Salford for £40m.
Great development which re-purposes an area of Walshaw that for years has been industrial in use before being derelict, however, not sure on the 30 minute drive to Manchester – Try 1hr 30 minutes – EACH WAY!!
