Bellway underway with 88 Manchester homes

Located on a seven-acre former railway yard off Pitsford Road in Monsall, the scheme will feature a mix of three- and four-bedroom homes.

Bellway has begun building the 88-home development having secured planning approval last year.

The development will be known as Skyline “due to its impressive views across Manchester”, according to a Bellway press release.

Prices start from £364,995, significantly above the average house price in the area. The project features 18 affordable homes.

Bellway will make a series of section 106 contributions as part of the planning agreement, including a £440,000 biodiversity net gain contribution.

Each home will have a private garden, allocated car parking space, and electric vehicle charging point.

Grace Yarlett, sales director at Bellway, said the project would meet the needs of “a diverse range of homebuyers including first-time buyers, young professionals, families and those looking for a good location for an easy commute across the wider North West”.

“Skyline offers the chance to purchase a beautiful new home within walking distance of the city centre and within easy reach of Manchester’s best loved shops, bars, restaurants and green spaces,” she added.

The development was designed by architects APD and Calder Peel. Gateley advised on legals.

Great to see long-standing vacant sites like this being developed, more please, but surely we can go a teeny-weeny bit denser than 31 dwellings per hectare for a site that’s 30 mins walk into the city centre and 250m from the Metrolink stop? Just saying.

It’s nice to see the land being utilised for housing to regenerate the area, but £364,995 to live in a Council Estate is ridiculous. Who will buy these?

Good to see it being used but my word it looks dull and poorly designed. More thought and higher density would be a start

Monsall should experience a ripple effect from Collyhurst. Maybe reopen Miles Platting railway station next.
