Autumn start for Howe Bridge homes

Countryside has secured planning permission from Wigan Council for a 123-home development at the former Howe Bridge Mill site in Atherton.

Sixty of the 123 units will be delivered by Sigma, the PRS residential specialist.

Countryside and Sigma are expected to be on the site building the first homes by autumn 2017.

Planning consultancy Hourigan Connolly advised on the application.

Mark Russell, regional land director at Countryside, said: “This project marks our continued working partnership with Wigan Council and Sigma to build high quality homes and develop local communities. This new development promises to deliver a wide selection of much-needed open market and privately rented homes, whilst bringing a significant investment into the area.“

Grasscroft Development Solutions advised Countryside on viability matters.
