Auction house Pugh boosts senior leadership team

Andy Thompson has joined the company’s Manchester office as director, bringing more than 15 years of industry experience to the role.

Pugh Auctions is an online property auction house with three offices across the North West, based in Manchester, Liverpool, and Cumbria.

The firm has boosted its senior leadership team with the appointment of Thompson, who previously held the position of director at SDL Property Auctions.

Thompson started out his property career as a sales negotiator in 2005 at Edward Mellor Auctions, where he worked for 12 years before moving to SDL in 2017.

Paul Thompson, managing director of Pugh, said: “Andy played a key role in establishing SDL Auctions’ presence in the North West and his extensive expertise in the auctions market will be invaluable to us as Pugh continually works to provide the very best service to our clients.”

Property consultant Eddisons acquired Pugh in 2016 in an effort to strengthen its auctions division.

Thompson’s appointment follows Pugh’s merger with South Yorkshire property auctioneer Mark Jenkinson, also part of the Eddisons group, this summer to combine their monthly auction listings.

Andy Thompson said: “This is an exciting time to join Pugh, which is fast becoming the go-to property auction house in the North and more widely across the country.

“I am looking forward to playing a key role in the firm’s continuing growth, building on my experience of selling a vast range of residential and commercial properties on behalf of both private individuals and corporate clients across the North West.”
