Approval for £65m Widnes industrial

Halton Council signed off Marshall Commercial Development Projects’ 545,000 sq ft logistics project off Lovels Way.

The decision to approve the scheme was made at Halton Council’s development management committee on Tuesday evening.

Situated on 54 acres near the Alstom Rail Technology Centre, the project would see the building of a singular large warehouse, as well as an electricity substation, sprinkler tank pump house, and a vehicle wash facility.

Access to the site would be from Lovels Way. There will be space for 380 cars to park, and 102 cycles to be stored.

A council’s officer report said that the £65m project has the capacity to create up to 500 jobs.

Avison Young is the planning consultant for the application. The project team includes A.F. Connell, Building Management Services, Brooks Ecological, Curtins, and ALLP Landscape.
