McGoff eyes start for ‘premium’ Wilmslow care home
Dunham Care, part of the wider McGoff group, secured consent from Cheshire East Council for the 66-bed Alderley Road facility last year.
How, McGoff is eyeing a start on site having completed the acquisition of the site from Robinsons Brewery for an undisclosed sum.
Attention now turns to demolishing the existing buildings on the plot, which was previously occupied by Travis Perkins and a car wash.
McGoff Construction hopes to be on site before the end of the year and complete the development by Q3 2028.
The scheme is one of six being developed under the Dunham Care brand currently. The firm describes its product as “premium” and boasts of providing “chef-led dining to rival the finest boutique hotels”.
Group chief executive Chris McGoff said: “Our vision has always been to redefine what later life looks like, and we are committed to creating exceptional environments that deliver outstanding care underpinned by quality, safety and dignity.
“Whilst there will no doubt be some initial short-term disruption, the new facility will create an abundance of new jobs for local people and we will shortly be commencing a series of recruitment fairs to enable a forum to hire the best local talent.”

The proposals looks excellent and a vast improvement on the existing usage. Well done McGoff / Cheshire East for this!
