Wyre Council consents latest Great Eccleston resi plan
Baxter Homes’ 142-property scheme off Copp Lane forms part of a wider 88-acre housing allocation west of the settlement.
Wyre Council’s planning committee met last week to determine the plans, which were first lodged in 2021.
At the time, the vision was for 99 homes but this has since been increased by 50%. Wyre Council’s planning officers have recommended the project for approval, stating that the 12.6-acre site off Copp Lane in Great Eccleston forms part of a housing allocation set out in the local plan.
Hundreds of homes within the allocation have already been approved and constructed over recent years.
Baxter Homes’ project received 59 objections. It features a mix of one-bedroom flats, and two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses. 30% of the homes would be affordable.
The developer would also make financial contributions towards a community hall, education, healthcare, public right of way improvements, and travel planning.
S&L Planning Consultants is advising Baxter.
