Bruntwood appoints CTO
Nuno Miller has become the company’s first chief technology officer, showcasing the Manchester-based developer’s interest in moving beyond physical spaces to also focus on digital experiences.
This could include using data to create a more personalised service for tenants, finding opportunities to incorporate AI and automation into the company’s workflow, and leveraging digital data to spot the next great opportunity.
Bruntwood chief executive Chris Oglesby said: “As we mark 50 years as a business, creating this role is a clear statement of where we’re heading next.
“Our customers expect the same quality from their digital experience as they get from the spaces we create, and our colleagues deserve tools that help them do their best work,” Oglesby said.
“Nuno brings exactly the experience we need to make technology a real differentiator for Bruntwood, and I’m delighted to welcome him to the executive team.”
Miller has 30 years of experience in information technology strategy, including roles at N Brown Group, Deloitte, and e-commerce specialist Sonae.
Regarding his new role as chief technology officer, Miller said: “Bruntwood has built exceptional places and communities where innovative businesses thrive.
“The opportunity now is to use technology and data to make them even more connected for the people who use them,” he continued.
“By bringing together customers, colleagues, buildings and services in smarter ways, and applying AI and automation where they create real value, we can enhance how the business operates today while helping shape the next generation of places, experiences and services.”
Bruntwood’s portfolio includes 6.85m sq ft of property across eight regions in the UK. The family-owned company’s spaces are occupied by more than 2,000 brands. The developer specialises in labs, retail, and offices, but has also been involved in numerous regeneration projects and, more recently, residential schemes through a partnership with Trafford Council. The firm recently reported more than 23,500 sq ft of lettings at its Manchester Science Park campus on the Oxford Road Corridor.
