Work starts on Logicor’s Altrincham industrial

Set to deliver 43,000 sq ft of employment space across three warehouses, the logistics park would sit within a five-minute drive from the M56.

Main contractor A&H Construction & Developments has begun construction at Logicor Park Altrincham. The developer doubles as the park’s namesake, with Logicor UK counting the site as part of its ambitions to deliver 1.7m sq ft of logistics space in the next 12 months.

The scheme earned planning permission from Trafford Council in October.

To make way for the three sheds, Logicor has knocked down the 38,000 sq ft Lyon Industrial Estate. In its place, it will build modern, energy-efficient units designed by UMC Architects.

The smallest of the three will be 3,300 sq ft. The next size up is a 15,500 sq ft unit that includes a 2,000 sq ft first-floor office. The largest of the three is 21,300 sq ft. It also has a 2,000 sq ft first-floor office as part of its design

Logicor is targeting an EPC score of A+ and a BREEAM rating of Very Good for all three units. To help it achieve this, the designs include EV charging capability, LED lighting, and 15% roof lights. There will also be a photovoltaic roof system that enables each unit to customise its solar array.

The developer is also set to plant more than 1,000 plants and trees at a nearby green zone on the two-acre site.

Vehicle access to the industrial park would be off Atlantic Street. There would space for 45 cars to park and 16 cycles to be stored.

Sanderson Wetherall, Nolan Redshaw, and B8RE are the joint letting agents for the scheme, which has a target completion date of the third quarter of 2025.

“We’re really excited to have begun construction at Logicor Park Altrincham,” said Charlie Howard, managing director for Logicor UK. “There is proven demand for high-quality, sustainable logistics space in premium locations and we look forward to welcoming new customers in the second half of next year.”

Howard also highlighted Logicor Park Altrincham’s solar panels as something of note.

“Being able to meet this need while delivering state-of-the-art, sustainable space that meets the highest of today’s standards is a great privilege,” he said. “It also marks another step towards our goal of increasing the capacity of our on-site renewable energy generation, in turn helping us to reduce our carbon footprint by 36% by 2030.”

Elsewhere in the North West, work is underway on another Logicor project – the 330,000 sq ft Bolton 330.
