UK Land/Pochin begin latest speculative units at Hawarden

Joint venture partners UK Land & Property and Pochin have committed to a further 40,000 sq ft of speculative industrial space at Hawarden Business Park, near Chester.

The moves follows the letting of an earlier 25,000 sq ft unit to MnKo, taking to 100,000 sq ft the level of new premises occupied at the site.

Tony Straw, of UK Land & Property, said: "This further speculative development underlines the joint venture's commitment to the business park and, with units ranging from 5,000 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft, we will respond to the current occupation demands in this area.

"With the acquisition and subsequent letting of 150,000 sq ft on an adjacent 22-acre site to Iveco Trucks, we have succeeded in further consolidating our land holding in the area."

Stephen Wade, of joint letting agent Legat Owen, retained with King Sturge, added: "Having completed two major lettings to ALcontrol Laboratories and MnKo, this next phase of development, comprising smaller units, will be targeted at local occupiers and Airbus suppliers. The recent announcement that Airbus has been awarded a major contract by the US Government will undoubtedly result in creating major job opportunities within the area."
