Buyer sought for Mynshull’s House & Britannic Buildings
Agent Fisher German has been tasked with selling the boutique office and retail space close to Manchester Cathedral, with an asking price of £1.1m.
Located at the junction of Cateaton Street and Deansgate, close to the cathedral and immediately across from high-end department store Harvey Nichols, the twin buildings are available at £1.125m.
Constructed in 1890, the grade two-listed Mynshull’s House offers 2,684 sq ft of refurbished office accommodation across the basement, ground and two upper floors.
The building was redeveloped in the 2000s by developer Nikal, which also occupied office space there.
Fisher German said that the building’s configuration and specification support a range of potential uses, from traditional office occupiers to beauty and cosmetic operators, dental practices and private medical providers.
Alongside Mynshull’s House, the adjoining Britannic Building provides an income-generating retail unit across the ground and basement floors. The self-contained upper residential apartments are held on a long leasehold interest and generate ground rent income.
The retail unit, for a number of years post-redevelopment the home of wine merchant Hanging Ditch, is now let to Barbers Triangle, on a 10-year lease that began in September 2023.
Place understands that the vendor is NKL2, a business registered at MediaCity, with Alan Murphy, co-founder of Nikal, listed as the only current director.
Erica Saxon, surveyor at Fisher German, said: “This is a notable opportunity to acquire a rare freehold, operationally modern Grade II listed office building, alongside an income generating retail and residential investment in a prime city centre location.
“The property has the potential to appeal to wide variety of potential end users who can benefit from the excellent location in the heart of the city centre.”
