Trafford approves Cornbrook resi blocks
Bellward Properties has been granted planning approval from Trafford Council for the 363-unit PRS development Cornbrook Works, located at the end of Chester Road on the Manchester and Trafford border.
The private rented sector scheme, designed by Tim Groom Architects, will sit on a 2.5-acre site opposite the Cornbrook Metrolink Interchange.
The development is a mix of two and three bedroom townhouses; one, two and three bedroom apartments and family-duplexes, arranged around a tree-lined public avenue following the route of the original Corn Brook, now an underground culvert, with private green courtyards and roof top gardens.
There will be two high-rise blocks of 19 and 16 storeys fronting onto Chester Road.
Mike McManus, Bellward Properties said: “Our vision for the site has been two years in the making. I would like to thank our professional team for all of their hard work and effort on the scheme. We believe the development will serve to enhance the whole area.”
Euan Kellie Property Solutions provided planning advice.
Hats off to the architect for using a CGI that actually shows it raining in Manchester!

It looks like a shanty town around there at the moment. This is very welcome if driving in from the Quays.

Is Trafford at last showing some ambition, or is it just shamed into action by what is going on next door in Salford & Manchester local authority areas? High time?!
