Steel structures installed at Blackpool’s Enterprise Court
Work on the next round of industrial units at Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone is underway, with developer Lanceshire gearing up for a December completion of the 20,000 sq ft space.
The two buildings make up part of Enterprise Court and will contain five smaller units between them. These smaller spaces would range from 2,500 sq ft to 4,800 sq ft.
Lanceshire is already lining up the next phase of Enterprise Court, with 30,000 sq ft of space in the works at the industrial estate off Amy Johnson Way.
These are busy times at the Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone, which was established in 2016. The area, which encompasses 356 acres around the titular airport. Blackpool Council and Fylde Council are working together on the zone, with hopes that it will bring 5,000 jobs and £300m of investment into the area by 2041.
Those targets are on their way to being met, with more than 200 companies already calling the enterprise zone home. These companies have brought 4,000 jobs with them.
Other active sites in the enterprise zone include 30,000 sq ft of industrial and offices next to Lancaster House, which is due to complete early 2026. Another 495,100 sq ft of commercial land is being marketed by Blackpool Council.
Then, there is Silicon Sands – a masterplan for a sustainable data centre park. The local authority is currently hiring a development director to head up the project.
“Our Enterprise Zone is one of the North West’s premier business destinations, supporting thousands of jobs for people in Blackpool and on the Fylde Coast,” said Cllr Mark Smith, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for economy and built environment.
“The council’s commitment to invest in the new road is giving the private sector the confidence to build in new business units, create space for more companies to grow, and creating more jobs for Blackpool people.”
