Senior hire for Savills planning team
Rob Haslam has joined Savills in Manchester from Trafford Council, where he was head of planning services and led a team of 65 people.
At Trafford, his role covered covered all aspects of the Council’s planning function, with a particular focus on the regeneration and development sector, specialising in influencing strategy at local and sub-regional level.
He is experienced in all aspects of planning work including planning inquiry and examinations, masterplanning, policy formulation and project development.
At Savills, he will be a director.
Haslam said: “The excellent reputation that Savills holds in the North West and across the UK was a big draw for me. Having worked in the Manchester development sector for almost ten years, I wanted to stay part of its growth evolution and the scope of the opportunity at Savills was too good to miss. It’s a pleasure to join such a professional, highly qualified team within a multi disciplinary business where I am able to bring sectoral knowledge and apply it to development projects.”
65 people eh, sounds a real big hitter. Thought they were cutting red tape at the councils. Not sure you need 65 planning Trafford? Therefore lots of experience in wasting money?
