Senior departures at Capital Properties
Mark Burgess, managing director of the Manchester-based property management firm, is understood to have left the company, alongside his wife and communications director Fran Burgess.
Capital Properties declined to comment on the departures. Mark and Fran Burgess were unavailable when contacted by Place North West.
Capital Properties is best known for animating the Spinningfields estate on behalf of Allied London, including running the ice skating rink and film screenings at Screenfields, and pop-up bars such as The Lawn Club. The company also manages assets for other landlords across Manchester, Leeds, London and Aberdeen.
The company was created following the management buyout of Capital HoldCo, Allied London’s holding company, in 2013 by chief executive Michael Ingall. As part of the deal, the Spinningfields Management Company was separated from the operational side of Allied London and became Capital Properties, with Burgess as managing director.
Previously to Capital Properties, Burgess held positions at CBRE, Savills and Bruntwood. Fran Burgess joined the company alongside Mark in 2008 as head of communications and events.
According to the latest accounts filed in May 2015, Ingall remains a director in the company and is the majority shareholder, with 70% of the ordinary shares. Mark Burgess is a 10% shareholder, alongside Frederick Graham-Watson with 15% and Stuart Lyell with 5%. Graham-Watson and Lyell are also directors of Allied London LLP.
Ingall declined to comment.
Capital Properties is based in Tower 12 in Spinningfields. In May, the company address was changed on Companies House to Allied London’s Manchester office address, and then in June was changed back to Tower 12.

Crikey. I wonder how Capital will manage to continue without Mark at the helm.

Have seen a few jokey references to his after-dinner boxing PR – what happened, did he get battered?
