Mayoral Development Zone to be created in Rochdale and Bury

Residents are being asked to decide whether or not they want to see the city council’s mayoral model scrapped.

Liverpool City Region, Greater Manchester, Crewe and more are in the running to host the new headquarters of the rail infrastructure operator.

Cheshire East Council and its partners have formally submitted their expression of interest in housing the headquarters of Great British Railways.

“The thing that would make the biggest difference in levelling up is getting that cross-North infrastructure right,” said Liverpool City Council chief executive Tony Reeves during a panel.
