Bellway adds to Heywood presence
The housebuilder has acquired a further plot of more than six acres off Hareshill Road, enabling it to add a further 61 homes to its Hopwood Meadows development.
With planning consent already in the bag, Bellway has triggered an immediate start on the new phase which will bring forward a mix of three-, four-, and five-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, all with gardens and garages or allocated car parking spaces.
Hopwood Meadows sits within the wider South Heywood masterplan, a 350-acre, mixed-use development anchored by Junction 19 of the M62 that will deliver up to 1,000 new homes, 1.9m sq ft of commercial space, a primary school, link road, local centre and green space. Russell LDP is the master developer of the scheme.
Sales manager at Bellway, Lynne Duxbury, said: “Located within the masterplan area, the properties will appeal to young professionals, couples and families looking for a quality new build home in a vibrant new urban area that benefits from a host of new education, retail and leisure facilities and is well located in terms of transport links and access to open green space.
“We’ll be developing a range of different house types, all designed to offer contemporary flexible living space, and reflect the style and quality of the properties that have been so well received on the first phase.”
Work on this phase is expected to complete by the end of 2028, with the first movers expected to take the keys to their homes from the middle of 2027.
