Sancus appoints Wood as funding director
Paul Wood brings a decade of experience as a specialist mortgage and secured loan provider to the new role at the lender.
Wood joins after a near decade-long stint with Together, where he was head of finance.
Before Together, Wood worked as a senior associate at PwC.
Sancus currently has 15 employees, eight are based at Sancus’s 1,800 sq ft office at 26 Cross Street in Manchester. The lender recently agreed a five-year lease at the city centre location, which it’s said reflects a long-term commitment to the city and its confidence in the region as a hub for providing real estate finance solutions.
The move was secured with the support of OBI, along with the legal team at Hill Dickinson.
Paul Wood, funding director at Sancus, said: “I’m excited to be joining Sancus at such an important stage of its growth.
“Having worked with Andrew previously, I know the strength of his leadership and the great things the business is achieving.
“What really attracted me to Sancus is its relationship-focused approach. They want to create something truly bespoke for clients rather than offering a standardised product.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my experience of the funding landscape to help develop that strategy further and help build a product set that can tackle different markets, delivering an optimal end-to-end journey for our clients.”
Andrew Charnley, managing director of Sancus Lending UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul to our business. The fact that he has chosen to join our team is a testament to not only the progress we have made this year, with new lending of around £100m and a loan book in excess of £150m, but just as important is our focus on customer outcomes and colleague engagement.
“Paul will add great value as we build both business and our proposition, further strengthening an already first-class team. I look forward to working with him once again and to supporting his career aspirations.”
