Russells’ refurb hat-trick
Trafford-based Russells Construction has won its third refurbishment contract in two months, a £410,000 project in an industrial unit in Runcorn for J&M Property Management.
Andrew Russell, managing director of Russells, said: "We have seen a move towards refurbishment rather than new-build development in this sector which reflects the desire of developers and property owners to improve their current premises in order to appeal to as wide a potential market as possible.
"There is no doubt the current economic conditions have been tough for the commercial property sector but we have made sure to retain our commitment to delivering consistently high standards for our clients which I believe pays dividends. We have worked with J&M Property Management many times in the past and, despite the huge amount of competition out there in the market place, I believe their choice of Russells Construction is testament to their prior experience."
Developer John Weatherilt, from J&M Property Management, let the warehouse to Sportswear International, which is moving just a few miles from Rokeby Court to Fairoak Lane.
In October, Russells Construction started work on an £800,000 project for AKW Group at its World Freight Centre site in Trafford Park and earlier this month won another £400,000 refurbishment contract for a Yorkshire-based haulier, Longs of Leeds.
