Rudy’s plans double expansion
Pizzerias in Monton and Wilmslow are in the works as the chain seeks to grow its footprint in the North West.
Popular pizza restaurant chain Rudy’s wants a bigger slice of the action in the region and is planning to open sites on Monton Road in the trendy Salford suburb and in the former Barclays bank on the corner of Grove Street in the affluent Cheshire town.
In Monton, the plan is to open up a restaurant within the old Bennetts Furnishers store at 237-239 Monton Road, next to Costa Coffee, according to a licensing application lodged with Salford City Council.
The application states that Rudy’s Monton would operate from 11am to 11:30pm seven days a week.
In Wilmslow, Rudy’s owner Mission Mars has lodged plans with Cheshire East Council to convert the former into what would be the chain’s third Cheshire restaurant. The others are in Chester and Warrington.
Having started out as a small Manchester-based operation, Rudy’s is now a national concern with 39 outlets across the country, including as far afield as Birmingham, London, and Brighton.
Eight of its restaurants are in Greater Manchester, including the original Ancoats pizzeria.
Rudy’s was contacted for comment.
