Redrow names new North West chief exec

Housebuilder Redrow has promoted its managing director of Yorkshire to regional chief executive, overseeing the North West, North Wales and Yorkshire divisions.

Warren Thompson joined Redrow in 2014 from Avant Homes, with a commitment to grow the company’s output in Yorkshire to 500 units, which has been achieved.

Thompson replaces the previous Northern regional chief executive Matthew Pratt, who has moved to Redrow’s South Midlands, South East, Eastern and Southern counties divisions.

He said: “Having achieved what I set out to do in Yorkshire with the support of great staff and a strong management team, I now feel I have reached a point in my career where I am ready for this great opportunity and fresh challenge of ensuring that Redrow maintains its position of strength and achieves further growth across the North of England and North Wales. This region is very much Redrow’s heartland, the company having been founded here more than 40 years ago, so I consider it a privilege to be given the post of regional chief executive.”

Will it improve the quality of the product though? I doubt it very much. Everything gets passed back to customer services even if you have gone to director level. Selling the dream – which is oft a nightmare.
